2019 年 3 月熱帶氣旋「伊代」兩次登陸莫三比克，在東非各國造成嚴重災情，其中以莫三比克、馬拉威、辛巴威三個國家受災最為嚴重。

根據聯合國統計，目前已有上千人死亡，超過 370 萬人民受到影響，慈濟志工在非洲的援助行動從 3 月 11日開始至今仍持續進行，援助項目有急難發放、教育復校、衛生醫療、援建磚房。

除了在災區第一線救援，全球各地的慈濟志工發起募心募愛行動，已有55個國家地區響應，把愛送進非洲，期待當地居民能夠早日回復生活正軌。

莫三比克慈濟賑災團，預計在4/6、4/7在雅瑪郡發放物資，一天一千戶。而所有物資都已集結在貝拉市，由華人實業家提供倉儲，妥善安置。

在莫三比克，首當其衝的貝拉市，到現在還是慘不忍睹。因為水源汙染，造成霍亂疫情加速擴散，對貝拉市來說，是二度災難。災區的衛生環境，也令人擔憂。

因為糧食有限，災民只能靠著莫三比克國家緊急救難中心所提供的黃豆粉果腹，除了小孩是一天三餐，大人只吃午餐和晚餐，生活是相當辛苦，特別是用水極為困難。
